I finally got the bats.
It took a few sessions to get used to (my bomb bat has quite a short handle) but now we wouldn't want to go back!
The rubber's grip is amazing. Control is way better - but my son hates it when I add too much spin as he can't return :D
Something I couldn't achieve with our old bats.
In the three weeks or so we've been using them though the rubber's grip has diminished.
There is a sponge included with the bats we bought and I was wondering what is the safest way to clean the rubbers ?
In any case we are very happy and thank you all for the tips!

Have a look at this guide: Looking after tacky rubber

It is normal for tacky rubber to lose some of their initial tack as they are designed to do this, but they should retain some of it, and remain spinny... the speed and control usually improves after this has happened.
