My fellow Korea Foreign TT member (who I get to boss in the same office) and I participated in the 2011 Daegu US Forces Korea TT Championships. My partner got 3rd in singles and 1st in doubles. I got 1st in Singles, Open, and Doubles.

Here are a few pics. For anyone not knowing me, I am the one with the crew cut, NOT the one without hair, although I have less and less of it each year. I used a new sheet of T05 on a TBS for FH. Partner used a Schlager Carbon with T05, for all U EJs out there.

Well, this was held on a Saturday near 1200. Does anyone in their sane mind get up that early after partying all night until 0800?

Teams? What Teams? You got to be kidding me, right? We can barely get a team worth of players to a local tourney ONLY if we send out the Batman signal for FREE BEER.

USA is light years away from having enough TT athletes to join the Army and make a team, let alone in one locale. may happen when I turn 75, if I make it that long. that is changing for the better, but at this rate, many years away.

Not really reb, but there were $100 USD for Military Singles and $50 for Doubles in it for me. The only notable competition was Mr flores, who i had to fight tooth and nail to win the Open division in 2009's TT Championships. At the time, he was a solid div 4 opponent playing in Seoul city. I have improved imeasurably since then and won 3-0 not playing my best. 2 yrs ago, we were fighting for points, this year, my loops had a LOT of kick that troubled and pressured him. Never felt any progress in that time month to month, but is was happening at a fast rate. Now, when I got to Seoul for city tourneys, I am div 3.

YY, I haven't played that long and getting vet status is a bit premature whether it is actual time in TT or TT foruming. I am just a joker, that's all.

Doug, thanks and I would like to match up vs Ur evil pips with mt BH.

Ha ha ha, Der, that would be a lot of fun. If only someone would win the lottery somewhere and sponsor the forum members for a giant forum tournament!

I have a giant round robin coming up on Saturday, so I should have more summaries/videos coming up!

Doug, you could always teach English for a summer. There are a few foreign peoples here in Korea basically just to play TT and enjoy being young in Korea. Too bad I was already in hte military and didn't know about TT back then...
