I agree... there is not reasons that the manufacturers can't 'air' the rubbers before they package them.

it's hard to know if a corner is a seperate room with a fan is a good thing or not. Once a bat with high VOC has entered into the room, the VOCs might continue to circulate and make other readings less accurate. I really don't know how good the machine is, but the issues you presented here is certainly evidence of either a faulty device, or lack of training by the operators, or other environmental issues affecting the reading. Whatever the cause, it's not doing any good to our sport or our players. :( :( :(

Apparently this is voluntary testing before event start, so random testing will be carried out

Fixed VOC machine = switched off at the power point :rofl: I bet that's what happened

We had someone who purchased a new blade and rubber sheet, had it glued on by the retailer who sold it to them at their booth with their water-based glue, and it failed the test. I think some of the "pre-tuned" rubbers might need to be aired out first.
