sorry for caps I just copied and paste, My Inter-club team mate Victor Ma just missed out to represent Oceania but played well and beat both Aussie boys
Sophia Dong now lives in Melbourne but is still representing New Zealand and young Roger Wang (I think still using Yinhee pro Moon on his forehand)

I spent the whole day watching this event, apart from rushing away to bring some rubbers back for some players who's rubbers had defects
and a black marker pen to help a boy with a white bit showing on the corner of his rubber,
some great games and maybe the biggest upset going with a combined team from Thailand and NZ beating the NZ A team, I'm mates with nearly all the NZ kids and it was great fun to see them all do well, I won't go tomorrow but may get back there in the Weekend
The event carries on until Sunday, I met lots of Australians and many of the Cook Island team (I might have a look around for some 2 hand rubbers for them to take back to the Islands) .Our National under 18 girls champ is a chopper (She was using Dawei 388D-1 ox, and another Kiwi girl did have bomb talent but I'm unsure of what she has now) and both are amongst the best of their age here
And overall a very exciting day, and Semi's and finals of teams are tomorrow then the individuals start

, I think my interclub team mate won all his games, so I was happy for him

He went OK he won one event and got a bronze in another, I'm sure it was less than he expected though

I suspect Dominic (from my club) will one day be Henzell's level/replacement. Of course there is always things that can get in the way, but he is a solid chance IMO.

You're right... it takes a lot more than talent. Very few continue playing through their teenage years, as there are just too many distractions.
