Some good results there, were there many competitors? and is this a regional qualifying event?
The first round was for my local region which consists of a major city (1 million+) and surrounding suburbs. To be perfectly honest, the number of entrants was smaller than even most regular zero-star (i.e., no prize money) USATT tournaments. And some of the participants were "senior center rec level" players and were no contest. In singles, a few of the better players were in the 65 and over class and even the over 75 class so I didn't have to face them. Some of those older players are regulars at my club and very savvy and hard to beat. I think maybe a lot of players in the 55-59 age bracket don't want to admit that they are "Seniors." But if you don't enter you can't win...I think the level of competition is going to go up of course at the State Qualifier and the National Games if I'm privileged to advance!
