Dwruck is in Milwaukee, but you need to increase the upper level to about 1900.

Glad to hear you are coming to the Badger Open! It's typically the biggest 4 Star tournament of the year in the Midwest. Eugene Wang has won the Open the past couple of years and there have been some awesome matches. With over $11,000 in total prize money and almost $4,000 for first place, it is sure to be a really deep field.

You should post your inquiry on our club's Facebook page (Shorewood Table Tennis Club). You might find some responses there. Additionally, the tournament venue will be available for open play on Friday night for just $6. I'm not sure of the exact time, but I think it might be starting at 6. So that would be another option for you.

I hope to see a lot of you there! I'm going to be playing 2 events Saturday and 2 events Sunday, and might also do some umpiring as needed when I'm not playing.

So, anybody coming to the Badger Open this year? Should be another great tournament. I will be there both Saturday and Sunday. I'm umpiring (as needed) in the morning on Saturday and Sunday, playing two events in the afternoon each day. Saturday is U-2000 and U-2300, Sunday is Over-40 and U-2200. Hoping to win the U-2000 on my home turf, that would be fun. But it's a tough event. It's got the most entries (over 50). As of right now, I'm the #5 overall seed. I'm actually a little nervous for the first time in a while, my sister-in-law is bringing my 9 year old nephew to watch me play in that event (at least the round robin portion). In the past I haven't played well with family at a tournament, I don't know if I get too self-aware or what. Anyway, it will be fun!

Thanks Joe! I saw that the ratings from the team tournament are updated now and that the event seedings were adjusted as a result. So, I dropped from being the 5 seed to being the 8 seed in U-2000, and dropped to the 6th seed in Over-40. If I'm going to advance out of either of those events and go deep I'll have to beat some pretty good players. But that's what it's all about! I'm anxious to get going!

It was fun getting to umpire some of the early streaming matches today. Played inconsistent but still well enough to advance out of U-2000. Played an 11 year old super junior who recently went over 2000 at another event in the round of 16. Lost 11-8, 11-7 (he got three points off nets in this game), 11-9. If I'd had my best game I know I would have beaten him.

In U-2300 I played much better. Lost 3-0 to Dan Seemiller Jr (the top seed in the whole event). Played a guy rated 1926 and won 3-2. Easily beat the lowest rated player in my group. So overall it was a solid day. I might even say good. Hopefully tomorrow I can do well in Over-40 and U-2200.

Is the video of the final somewhere online? I saw it live but would like to watch it again.

Doug, thanks for looking into it. The final was well worth watching again! Good luck for you today.
I hope to manage to play the Badger Open next year. I signed up for the Aurora Fall Open which takes place on Oct. 6. Are you coming down to play?
