OOAK Table Tennis Forum

Its about 2:00 in the a.m. and I'm working. Got this tourney tomorrow at 3:30. Its 2 1/2 hours away. My wife and kids are going so I have to listen to my teenage girls talk about how bored they are. But the payout will be good. $400 for group A. $350 B and $300 for C. I hope to be mid B. Groups D,E,and F will be in the morning. What will be hard for me is I have to work again tomorrow night. I think I can get back in time. If not I got a buddy who can fill in for me. So, this time tomorrow night I will update this and I hope to have some money.

SOunds great... at least you can make some money out of it if you do well... I'm sure money is not your main motivation though Good luck mate!

But I think I may end up towards the top of a group. Oh well, guess I just need to kick some serious you-know-what in that case.

Wow. Just got home and have to at work in 45 mins. Real quick. Was the 8th seed out of 11 in group B. Went 4 wins and 6 losses. Beat 1 above me and all below. Not crazy about that club. The floor was carpet with hard wood flooring over it. The wood kept moving. It was wierd. The table had a different bounce in some spots than others. Gotta go to work if I have time I will update later.

I haven't had time to update my profile in awhile. My rating dropped because of two bad tourneys. But after this one I think I got it up to about what my profile says now.
Looking back on this last tourney I have a few ideas on what went wrong. When I tried to hit with the pips they all went long. The spin reversal on some of the tables was not there. I would have a great block and they would just hit right through it. Had me scratching my head. My FH is almost always good for blocks and even that was going in the net. It was a very wierd tourney. I talked to other players and they agreed that there was a lot of unforced errors. But, it was just one tourney. There will be a lot more soon enough. LOL, like in 10 days.
