Yeah, Peter's a great guy. I think Arlene is there but Foam is at home planning his 2015 assault. No other forum members immediately come to mind.

Roadrunner from Qld, who came here because I was here but hasn't posted for quite a while.

A large number of TTNSW umpires, while the Bennelong Cup is on. :( or is that :)?.

If they ask TTA very nicely, however logistics may defeat that.

Are you asking about the Vets or Bennelong?
Vets would probably be using celluloid. The entry form should state that.
Bennelong Cup will find out around 6pm tonight hopefully :)

I don't think Foam played enough tournament to qualify this year.

They used Adidas balls. Plastic balls will most likely be implemented next year.

I was in the Over 40 Women State Team, we got Bronze. I was the 4th player, so I did not get to play many matches. Did a lot of umpiring and cheering from the bench. Also got time to see a bit of Tasmania. Beautiful State, I can live here :)

Some very good "new" veteran players from South Australia such as Paul Langley, Scott Houston, Kazue Brice, Claire Langley. New Zealand has a very strong O40 Women Team with the addition of Joanne Shaw, who we heard was a former Commonwealth player! The "Golden Girl" this year was Lan Zhai from Victoria, winning O40 & O50 Women's Singles, leading the O50 Women Team to Gold and winning the O40 Mixed Doubles with Chamara Fernando.

Overall Victoria had a medal in 11 / 13 team matches. Winning 6 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze. Only the Over 30 & Over 50 Men did not get a medal, but they placed 4th, so still a close contest.

Next year it will be in Caloundra, Qld. Looking forward to it already.

I didn't play any tournament this year, only played one last year?.

Might be able to play quite a few next year but another baby might complicate things :p. It's extremely hard to get into a team for me living so far away from tournaments, it means playing them on 4 hours sleep. I've played two or three vets tournaments without having slept at all. Tough!. But I'll give it a shot.
