You have to have a fairly good imagination to call Mornington or Ballarat country areas
lol especially Mornington, that's definitely a suburb of Melbourne, an outer one sure but it's still a suburb. Ballarat is a big city in it's own right it just happens to have a little bit of highway between it and Melbourne, there's nothing country about the city itself. You expect the bigger non capital cities like Geelong/Ballarat and Bendigo with populations around 100,000+ to be full of sports stadiums and they are. Ballarat is the best TT stadium in Victoria imho!:) and most people say the same about that.
One interesting thing is why do all those places have to pay metro rego fees yet at the same time are considered outside the metro area when it comes to be able to play country week??????. There's been a long standing 20 year+ argument between Colac and TTV over the rego fee, that's the reason Colac are not and have not been TTV members. For them it's a matter of principal since Colac is clearly a proper farming country area and quite far from Melbourne yet TTV consider them within the metro circle....... Until TTV come to the table and fix that they will never sign on, pity because it's always been a strong club that has over 100 members and a lot of talent could/should have come from there over the years.
Another one of those long standing disputes that have an interesting back story I guess, some of those country clubs have long memories and are much older than TTV itself.
