I'll tell you all the general public know or care about in table tennis is "How far from the table do you play" The further away you can truthfully answer the more impressed they are. If you want to impress the general public you need the game to be as long range as possible. Even better if it's 50-50 between a offensive player and defender. These British scholars are really deserving the Nobel Prize for developing the apparatus to visualize how the ball is travelling throughout table tennis service.

Yeah, I hate to pick on someone's appearance (I wouldn't want a closeup pic of my face on any website), but they are talking about IMAGE here...marketing. The man may be brilliant but at least put up a picture of someone who looks like an athlete!
