Considering they only used the best veer polyball ("A") to use in the testing, which had the closest veer to the current 3 star celluloid ball, what else could you ascertain that to mean?

IMO, "A" polyballs will be considered 3 star, "B" 1 star, and I don't know about the C and D's.. maybe training balls or they are just trashed/recycled.

Just that - that the balls were truer, rounder etc. It has nothing to do with being more "like celluloid" - just as a 1 star training ball is no more "like celluloid" than a 3 star premium ball. Both are EXACTLY like celluloid because they both ARE celluloid.

Now you're playing semantics.

Not at all. The A balls were simply the best (most round, true and consistent) examples of the new poly ball not because the were most like celluloid balls. The whole point of the study was to compare how the new poly balls compare to the celluloid balls. So you obviously choose the highest quality group of balls - not because they are like celluloid, but because choosing the highest quality balls is likely to give you the most consistent and hence useful results.

Maybe you meant something different than what you said?
