Dang.. just got an email from Sanwei with a link to that same video and I thought I'd post it here. Looks like someone's beaten me to it.. The part about making rubber is the same as I've seen elsewhere, namely the photos that were put on Yinhe's web site, and also that Rasant video. The masticator, the molds, the steam vulcanizer.

Another Sanwei video. Cool mellow music..

Interesting things to note.

1) Like many, they use a ganged CNC router to cut out blades. (I've heard of Stiga using a water jet, though.)

2) Surprised at the use of a CNC mill to cut handle pieces!

3) At least some of their blades (the F3, I think, is shown) have slots cut in the tang. I wonder if the handles are also hollowed out. Unlike the Senso blades, you don't see the ends of the hollows on the butt.

4) The equipment for making rubber seems identical to what was on the Yinhe site. Those topsheet molds are the same - you make two sheets at a time.

5) You see them applying the "tacky carrier sheet" to the topsheet BEFORE the sponge goes on. Interesting. If the sponge application requires heat, then heat is probably part of the process by which the adhesive gets transferred onto the topsheet.

(Darn.. I just realized it's the same video as was posted earlier.. )
