i have noticed this before but never posted about it before. One would assume using ebay.com with a worldwide search setting would show you all available items worldwide. However as you may have guesed this is not the case.

For instance searching for 10x palio ck531a on ebay.com with worldwide checked shows exactly 0 results
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_sacat=0 ... _PrefLoc=2

Strangely enough the exact same search term shows 14 results(with 5 actual 10x items) on ebay.de
http://www.ebay.de/sch/i.html?_odkw=bom ... a&_sacat=0

Same thing happens with 10x bomb talent, 0 results on ebay.com
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R4 ... _PrefLoc=2

2 actual results on ebay.de
http://www.ebay.de/sch/i.html?_trksid=p ... &_from=R40

To make things even weirder, if you open the link on ebay.de and change the url in the address bar to .com instead of .de you will see the item on ebay.com. Same trick works for logging in, you can use your ebay.com account on any international ebay site by changing the .de, .co.uk or whatever to .com on the login screen.

The whole ebay international sites thing is a bit of a mess anyway with free shipping on the .de site and shipping costs on some items. I just noticed items I viewed on .de show up on .com in my recently viewed list. i can click the item and it shows on .com. However even when I search for the exact item name it shows 0 results.

SOunds like a real mess indeed. It could be intentional, if they give preferential results to local searches, although it still does not seem consistant. Ebay is so HUGE now, I'm not really surprised.
