The shipping for a tt robot (newgy 1040) is 170-190 dollars, Im not even sure if its in US dollars or not but it is INSANE. Anyone else agree?

The box would be very heavy. If it's shipping via air, then the price does not seem excessive... I'm not sure where they ship from...

that sounds about normal.

You do realise that it's something like a 15kg item...

Why not just buy a robot in Aus then? You have to weigh up the overall cost between buying local and overseas and also look at the support you can expect if you buy OS if anything goes wrong. AffordableTT sells robots have you looked there? If you buy it from megaspin and its faulty, is their policy that you pay shipping back to them? That will add a lot more to the price if that happened.

Did I read in the intro that you are from melb or at least Aust and if so and you want the newgy robot try the melb distributor that is were I got mine 3 years ago when I first got back into TT, they are based in Dangenong here is their site details http://www.atpmanufacturing.com.au/.

edit: If you are serious about buying this robot feel free to pm and I can give you some real feedback on its limitations.

If I may make a suggestion check out http://www.fareastsports.com

They have several robots, very good pricing, and free shipping to many places. I think they also give a 3 year warranty on all robots.

The only drawback is that most of the robots are from China so they are wired for it (on 220). You can easily adapt it if you are on 110 (sorry I don't know what the Aussie standard is), for minimal cost.

Anyway its worth checking out, and thats where I bought my robot from. Should be here Thursday. :D

So sensible huh? I just worry about lack of precision power for the lifespans of your computer power supplies.....60 hertz is much much better....Sorry, sonar (read: electronics tech) by trade.
