Hi ... My first post on OOAK and a question for coaches.

I'm interested in the relative values of the PATT Institute Manual (A Principles Approach to Table Tennis @ http://thepattinstitute.com/default.aspx) and the ITTF's Advanced Coaching Manual.

Some of the PATT Notes, published on their site, appear to be very insightful. Any other suggested books on technique, training and tactics for coaches?

Nick

From what I've seen of the PATT manual, it seems WAY too complicated to me... their analysis seems far more complicated than it needs to be. In my experience if you make things too complicated, you're unlikely to be able to use or remember the details...

Have you read the manual or the content list? I've only read the content list published on their site and you're right, that looks pretty daunting.

They have a new book out also. Better than their first book, but I felt the authors lost quite a bit of credibility due to the fact that they are shameless, unabashed Adham-lovers.
