I was interviewed by Expert Table Tennis last Friday. The podcast (55 min) came out this morning. Most of the discussion is on tactics, though we touched on other topics as well. Enjoy!!!

I better listen to this because I keep losing to Larry's students as of late.

I just can't motivate myself to listen to a podcast, especially one that long...I would so very much prefer a written interview... I don't know why people do podcast...perhaps it appeals to the younger generation... I must be getting old... :(

You are old!

I'm older though but I like podcasts because I can download them and listen to them when I want without having to worry about the size of font or starting at a small screen like a tablet or phone to read the text. You can also get a better feel for the person and what's being said by listening to the tone of voice and how the interviewer and interviewee interact. That doesn't come across in ink.

However, I much prefer short podcasts so 55 mins could be broken down in to bite sized junks according to range of questions asked. My videos have been rightly criticised in the past for being too long and apart from one are way shorter than 55 mins. That's why I now break them down. It seems everyone is in a rush these days and peoples attention spans are "short" - I want it now syndrome.

Ben has provided a breakdown of the interview. It might be helpful to include it here too.

How Larry first got into table tennis at the age of 16.
The level Larry got to as a player.
How he first started coaching and why he enjoyed it so much.
Why he decided to write Table Tennis Tactics for Thinkers.
What the snowball effect is and how it can rapidly improve performance.
All about four key points from the book.
Larry’s top tactical tips for the serve, the return, and rallying.
About some of the books Larry has got planned for the future.

If someone could add the timings that each question starts at people could pick and choose what to listen too.

It's something I'll download and listen to at my leisure.

Thanks for posting the link Larry.

Ed. Unfortunately when I click on "download" it actually insists on playing the whole mp3 file and won't download.
