Quite a few "old farts" playing in the Olympics - in particular, quite a few older Chinese expats playing for other countries (some of them women). Ovtcharov actually had a very, very close call already a couple days ago against one of these, playing for Qatar. Won 11-9 in the seventh. I was watching Samsonov playing yesterday, but can't remember the opponent - someone from Taiwan or Hong Kong IIRC. And speaking of another "old fart" - Crisan (old guy from Romania) beat Lee Sangsu - 13-11 in the 7th also. Lots of really long matches for some reason. Iskandar |

They don't allow older players in China. If you can't be 1-4 in the world they are going to ask you to retire. One becomes a 'coach.' |
