Debater

I think for a player with pimps you must stand closer. My highest rating in the US was 2612, which put me at no. 4 in the country and I did that using pimp on my Backhand.

You have to stand closer if you have pimps on the backhand, and a great way to position yourself is to stand as close as you can on the BH without it disrupting your FH.

Good Luck with that.

Pacer I had no idea you used pips. Perhaps I missed reading something? But anyway, what did you use, and in what way did you primarily use it?

What up Reb

I used pips from Oct 1995 to Dec 1996, with my highlight being from August-Oct of 1996.

I used it to smash on the BH, and I coupled that with a heavy spin loops on the FH. It gave my opponents many problems, and I simple won a lot of matches against players just because they weren't good against pips.

The truth is I could not handle what I was using, and I lost a lot of matches when I played a player that was good against pips.

It was a fun ride, but I'm a looper man

It is a science, but it is not an exact science. If you make an attempt to implement those 3 basic components, then your stroke will find you. Once you have it, you can adjust it as you see fit.

Good Luck out there ponging.

Thank you very much, that seems to be one of the most insightful things I have every heard.

sounds a bit like the way i understand TT...
a loop is a brush sweep, a fish is a placement grab, a block is an intercept, and so forth...every one has their own way of understanding the sport.
