Was in my favorite store in manila and bought this blade.
(Didn't need it but got a great deal and I love hinoki. Great story for another time and topic)

The problem is the thickness if this beast's handle!!

Found an article on how this blade was modified.

Any idea what the article really says or better....how he accomplished this modification.

I think he just sanded down the handle (and blade), so that it will comfortable for him to hold? I don't see any modification apart from sanding down the handle part (and place for his thumb and index finger) of the blade.

I always have some anxiety when sanding my blades. I've made the mistake of sanding too much in the past.
