Ordinary chinese penhold blade is elliptic. What is difference between retangular chinese penhold blade and elliptic chinese penhold blade? Which one is better? Which one do you like more? Why? Thank you very much.
:D

Actually, You can ask Sword (a Chinese company) to make a blade for you, any shape and any structure.
:)

The price is about USD40. ( not including postage )

Yes.....design a blade: decide which kind of wood you want, thickness of each layer, etc. Then ask Sword to make the blade for you.

Hm. I've seen something like this before. It's probably okay for one-sided, but I think for RPB that a blade that head-heavy would be insecure in your hand without a finger hook. Interesting concept nonetheless. Yes, I might be interested in ordering a blade from them. Do they speak English, and what stuff do they have to make blades from?

Skull, there are several supplier that makes reversible J-pen like Butterfly and Nittaku. I think Darker also makes one.

Skull, sunflex, Hobbes,

Sword has a Chinese forum to communicate with the public. Any person can write down the full details of the blade which he/she wants in the forum. Then an employee of Sword will reply to him/her in the forum.
http://www.swordtt.com/bbs/index.php?act=idx

Perhaps sending email to Sword is better if you want to use English to communicate with them. Sword should be a big company in Beijing and should have employees who are good in English. Sword's email address is here:

[email protected]

Hobbes,
Thanks for your comments on retangular Chinese penhold blade...yes!

About the materials to make blade, there is a detailed Chinese article in the forum. Materials which can be chosen are listed in this Chinese article:
http://www.swordtt.com/bbs/index.php?showtopic=1303

It is difficult for me to translate the Chinese names of these materials to English. Sending email to ask them is better but I can tell you that about 15 types of woods are mentioned. Moreover, some special materials are also mentioned, krylate, carbon fibre, glass fibre, etc. You can choose from these materials for blade. Price mainly depends on what materials are used in blade.

It's great to be able to specify your own... trouble is you've really got to understand wood types constructions and other factors, to specify something that works... I've done it once before (not sword), and the blades turned out not bad, but not exactly what i expected...

I notice these in Sword's forum:

1. Some people simply ask Sword to make blades following the structures of some expensive blades. ( Other brands )

2. Some people tell the Sword's employee their personal styles (loop, chop, etc. ) and then ask the Sword's employee to suggest what blade structures are suitable for their personal styles.

Sounds really good, but It ultimately comes down to what the blade makers say.

I notice the following thread. According to this thread, the service has been provided by Sword since 2003:

oh..I think that I prefer to trust Sword's employee.
