Hello, i play cpen rpb grip offensive style with loops/drive loops on both sides, close to mid distance from table and i want some suggestions regarding the blade.

I played today with waldner black devil CB (straight handle) and it was an amazing experience! Other options to buy would be waldner senso ultra carbon, YMLC, or some bfly chinese ULC / AL / VII. I know that i can't go wrong with MLC, but how about the others?

I suspect your 'WOW' factor is over the balsa rather than the carbon...

Its very possible that you are right, didn't have the occasion to try another carbon blade but the light weight was nice anyway. The only reason i wouldn't buy the WBDCB is that i couldn't loop properly or serve heavy spin balls, but maybe its just a rubber-dependent factor.

I'm curious to find out why you found the blade amazing even though you mention you couldn't loop properly with it...

Speed, control and weight too.

Anyway I suggest that you see if you could have a go at a 'regular' carbon blade before you go out and buy one. Balsa blades have a different feel to everything else, carbon or no carbon.

yup, the gambler arylate carbon is pretty normal, unlike those butterfly weapons. except it is rated defensive. the hao shuai blade is another good one, based on what ive heard.

dont take my advice, because im unreliable.

Arylate carbon blades feel very different to regular carbon blades and the Hao Shuai is a single sided carbon blade (asymmetrical).

I will go for YMLC. I need now some general ideas of what type of rubber i will use on forehand and backhand (rpb looping), soft/hard, tacky or non-tacky, more speed or more spin. I play close to mid distance with drive loops / loops.

One of my coaches (provincial level) used RPB for everything on the backhand. Pushing, flipping, looping, kills. Super powerful and tons of spin. His rubber of choice, Sriver FX, Max.

Bought MLC cpen, and I am using it with two chinese rubbers: transcend 729-3 and 729 SP transcend but this setup feels a bit heavy.

blade - 90g (wtf?)
729 SP - 52g
729-3 - 54g

The rubbers are not perfectly cut so there is some extra sponge that passes beyond the blade, but it is still heavy. Also the measurements were made after I glued the rubbers on the blade and after 3 weeks I took them off, so I guess the glue make some weight difference.

So on BH i don't have many options: focus III snipe or acuda s3, both of them are light and feels like suits for rpb looping.

On FH i want something tacky for my servers with many gears, should i try something from DHS h2/h3 series, like hurricane 3 #19 (i saw that this rubber seems to be the lightest from H3 series)? I like to serve spinny balls and to loop close-mid distance.

H-3, #19 needs to be glued to bring the most out of it. I knew many players at or near provincial level and they ALL glued H-3. Some glued it very heavy the first time and left it on after that but the high level players all glued every time they played.

wow that's a heavy setup for rpb. 90g is on the heavy side for a mlc but quite typical. your rubbers are probably the easiest to lighten. h3 #19 isn't very good without glue our tuner so you are better off going with neo. Putting a regular japanese rubber like sriver fx on the back will also significantly lighten it by maybe 10g.

Other options to consider on FH are LKT Pro XT, Stiga Neos Tacky, Juic 999 Elita Nano, Juic 999 Elita Ultima, all of these have good amount of spin and are pretty light rubbers.

neos tacky is more of a chopping blocking rubber.. H3 or any other chinese tacky rubber should do,, also i find that Stiga Mendo(either of the three) works quite well on the reverse side(BH) , Stiga MAgna isnt bad either quite easy to reverse backspin serves and fire them off to their Deep unexpected FH if you can change the direction of the ball with rpb
