H2 is already a tough to tame rubber in most respects. A harder blade would probably just make it even more wild and would lose you more points in the end. If you definitely want a faster blade, there's no reason why it has to be harder as well; balsa blades can be lightning fast, but are quite soft. The same applies for hinoki. Although watch out if you want a thick hinoki blade. Some can get pretty heavy, and H2 ain't light...

Tried FocusII, and the bouncier topsheet makes it feel better. From the experiment I agree that a harder blade not necessarily the best to go with. Still, I still somewhat want the blade to be a tad harder - sigh, maybe I have to give up the search since it's just too hard to find something that is just right for someone. I started off with YE actually (still have it), and it feels extremely slow to me.

Now though I need to find a more suitable FH rubber as I don't like how FocusII plays close to the table and it's a bit unstable. Is FocusIII better? How about the Higher or Faster series? Are their topsheets fairly bouncy? About their throws, from Law's reviews, FasterIII have "lower" throw and HigherIII has "higher" throw. How're these throws compared to H2/H3/FocusII?

I know Higher III's throw is similar to Hurricane 3. I haven't tried any of the other ones from the Higher or Faster series enough to compare them. Focus III is much more like a Euro rubber than Focus II. Not at all tacky, soft sponge. Higher III's speed was decent, but I don't think it would feel very close to your H2.

You ought to try the blue sponge H2. Topsheet's the same, sponge is a touch softer, a good bit lighter, and just generally much better. The transition would take very little effort, but I think you'd like it more than the commercial H2.

As for a blade, I've heard good things about Darker's 7P-2A CHN. It's an all-hinoki seven ply Cpen that reportedly feels fairly soft, but has a good deal of speed. They're not all that expensive, either. It'd pair very nicely with H2 (especially the blue sponge one), as well as Focus II.

Thanks for the suggestions, Hobbes!
