Hello Everyone,

A few days ago I ordered a custom paddle:

DHS hurricane Hao blade
FH Black: Skyline 3 (Not NEO)
BH Red: DHS Dipper (first generation)

The weight for this set up is exactly 170 grams.

This is still somewhat heavy for me as i like to have a light paddle.

I am thinking of switching my DHS dipper rubber to a Sriver EL or Sriver FX. Does anyone know the specific weight for this rubber and if it'll make the paddle unbalanced? I think the skyline 3 rubber isn't too heavy but I am not sure.

EDIT: Skyline 3 rubber is apparently medium heavy according to http://www.tabletennisdb.com/rubber/dhs ... e-tg3.html but I am not sure what medium heavy is >_<;

Thanks a lot

Is there a way to reduce the overall weight of a blade? or completed blade?

EDIT: Doesn't look like DHS dipper is on the list =(. Hope the owner will add that one in soon.

I doubt it. Haven't updated that for a long time now plus you're the first one I've ever heard of using Dipper :P

The best you can do now is to change your BH rubber to something lighter and thinner. Sriver, Mark V, Dawei IQUL in 1.5mm would be OK.

Also, cutting BH rubber so it starts right from the handle would move the balance closer to the handle thus the paddle would be felt less heavy.

Yeah I plan to change my rubber from the Dipper to a Sriver EL. And I've known about the rubber to the handle never really tested it. Might be worth while to do when i switch both rubbers. For now, ill use it and see how it goes....It's brand new after all n_n;;

After getting to play with the HH blade, I think it is pretty amazing. My forehand is extremely fast with Skyline TG 3.

I used to use Palio rubber which was EXTREMELY light and got used to it for like 2-3 years. Now using heavy rubber is killing me >_<;; cant effectively use my backhand properly.

EDIT: BTW What advantages are there of gluing the rubber right down to the tip of the handle?

Personal preference really... there is of course a buit more rubber to hit with, but most cpen players glue the rubber down to what they feel is comfortable.
