Thanks friend.
We're limited to ten attachments per post. Want to see the rest?
I can twirl it. I think that accurate thumb catch in the last frame of my previous post is key.

I can't remember where I found this video or how I captured it. It might have been a Chinese site like Youku.
You can find lots of neat stuff by googling on the *Chinese names* of players, and you can do slow-mo and frame-by-frame with VLC.

The title of the video was "Table Tennis 周昕彤 × キム・ミンヒー 荻村杯卓球" (Zhou Xintong vs. Kim Min Hee, 2013).
This could be the same match through a different camera: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDSsQc4limA

Maybe life isn't too short... to play a half-dozen different styles.

Just 17 snippets. It wasn't hard.

Progress on twiddling. Please be gentle, this is actually progress.

Lifting the bat just slightly and while "floating" using the proximal side of thumb and palm to initiate spin. Once bat is turned, index fingers stops spin. I've actually gotten pretty decent at doing this during a match, but will tend to avoid too much twiddling if the opponent tends to be a close-to-the-table returner...which tend to be quick returns.

MODS: Why isn't the above youtube embedding?
Admin: because you needed to removed the "s" from the https:// - fixed now. ;)

I've been sitting at my desk with my paddle at work, and every time i have a second, I twiddle. lol.

Haggisv, thanks for fixing the link.. Didn't notice the "s." Which is embarrassing considering i work in IS. Wonder why the security check-digit presents on the URL like that? Bizarre.

And Haggisv, that's normal speed i promise. ;)

I have to say, so far the one issue I have is that the Cpen is far less comfortable. Than the Jpen. But twiddling is such an advantage...

That's because with the Jpen, the neck is much more skinny and you don't have to bend your index finger back so much to get it around the wings of your blade. It's just a more neutral, more natural, feel.

You need to sand them skinny more before they begin to flare out. I've honetly used a drimmel because it's much, much faster.

This picture is taken from my blog for another reason but look at the wings of the blade. They originally were much wider than this before. I've sanded them down and obviously rounded them. It's a very comfortable cpen now.

I regret not reading fleetwood999, above, more closely.
Jian Fang Lay twiddles routinely during points, and not slow points either. Watch the video he posted.

While Zhou Xintong's twiddle is elegant it is nowhere near as fast as the above.

A video from a club match in China. I believe the older man is quite well-known here.
Great example on PH twiddling. Watch closely, both of them twiddling during rally.
