But how is this different from shakehand chopping? I think shakehand choppers also makes directional changes mostly from the elbow, shoulder, and body orientation (waist).

far more potential for last second changes of direction with shakehands chop using the wrist. The p/hold grip allows this on the f/hand but wrist action is limited with RPB directionally, NOT rotationally.
