Though the photo shows the shakehand grip, this could also be applicable to a penhold grip. When you bring your racket back to the ready position do you use a circular motion? Or is it more of a back and forth motion with your racket hand?

I have tried this during practice and I seem to hit a bit better and I am more relaxed in my stroke. I also seem to get my waist movement more in sync with my arm swing. I don't speak Japanese but I used google translate after finding this page, so I am wondering if I am correct in my understanding of the technique.
