Is it effective to twiddle when going from over to away from the table? I use a tacky rubber on my forehand and grippy rubber on my backhand?

Short answer,

Twiddle actually effective anywhere, provided vast different between each rubber used. :D

Longer Answer,

Not the twiddle itself that useful, but

certain player assign different purpose for each rubber, e.g., H3 for looping, but Tenergy for smashing on forehand.

Even wider for pips and inverted combi user. Time to do evil.

Twiddle is just a means to access either rubber in certain situation. :D

Yeah, it's of limited use if you use inverted both sides, but is invaluable if you play with long pips (or anti) and inverted. Imagine serving once in a while with long pips (giving a good, hard stamp when you do.. ), you can catch the other person off guard. Not so useful after the two color rule, though..

That sums it up perfectly!

You are right "Iskandar" I have about 20 different serves & what ever I can do with my spinney FH I can create a completely different result doing what appears to be the same serves with my LP BH.  I win a lot of points that way. |( I love twiddling! :*:   8)
