Sure. I haven't done any woodwork or sanded a blade for at least half a doz years. But I can still tell you that 200grit is coarser than 400 and you've got it the wrong way around.

Don't know about "used to standing" but I spent an hour last night reducing a foot of 20mm dowel to 17mm to fit inside some PVC conduit. I used 100 grit, I imagine it would have taken 4 hours with 200 grit.. :lol: I'll have to admit I was sick of sanding after that.. :lol:

If I ever decide to do this full time (or even five hours a week) then I'll need a lathe.. Actually I do have a lathe but it's a little toy one and the chuck is nowhere near 20mm.. :lol:

Too late! :D Actually, I shaved the wing with an X-acto blade before the fingers-and-sandpaper bit. The shaping is on the forehand side to prevent thumb chafing when using the service grip.

Side view shows the same sanded area, plus 2mm thick self-adhesive cork tile on the back. Incidentally, that's Karis M (red) on the BH and Tenergy 25 (black) on FH. Very short pimples on both, but much wider on T25. Also note the difference between using a fresh blade to cut the rubber (top) and a dull blade (bottom). :sweat: I didn't sand the grip per se, though – it's super comfortable as is!

A coach in the Philippines used very fine sand paper then clear nail polish to keep it from fraying further.

Here are some CPENs I sanded:

These are both from Premades. The one to the left is a 5-5.1mm brandless 5-ply that I used extensively. Served me better than a brand new Avalox BT555 which I ended up selling. As you can see I sanded the wings off completely. It was very comfortable and allowed a larger range of motion for the wrist.
The one to the right is a 7-ply premade which I have yet to test. As you can see I've only sanded a small portion off the wing.

Here's a JPEN I picked up from a thrift store yesterday:

As you can see it had been used and came pre-sanded. Actually not sanded but from what I can tell the previous owner just chipped off a large portion of the wing. He was also right-handed from what I can tell.

Very crude modding possibly done with a knife. Nothing a little skidproof pads can't fix. Also from the dent at the bottom you can see the owner also sanded it to fit his palm.

Here's what it looks after I sanded it on the opposite side. I'm a leftie if you can't tell.

Hello, I usualy sand my blades too, for comfort (smoother grip for the index finger) but also the hower part of the handle, to allow free movement during over the table play, like banana flip.
