I have tried changing to shakehand before because the best players are almost all SH, and I was EJing. SH looks better on TV too.

Practice feels good. Banana flips on so-so serves are also very easy. I don't have to think about the spin.

Over two weekends, guys that I beat before were beating me. A 70-year-old tricky player was destroying me because I was slow... I switched back to Cpen and whipped the crap out of him.

Did decent on doubles though because there's more time between shots. I'd probably have to back away the table with SH.

SH feels like I might as well just play tennis tho. It's just two-wing looping. Limited serves/push/wrist etc. I did not feel the skill element. I felt this way during practice.

But I'm sure if I had started out playing SH things would be different.

Well, there is certainly just as much skill involved in SH as there is in Penhold, but ergonomically there are fewer challenges for sure. Personally, I only changed because I wanted to become a modern defender. Honestly, my FH has never really improved since converting until recently (that's to me, I'm told otherwise by coaches and friends).

There is far less support for learning, so it is also easier to find help.
