I finally took some pictures of my Galaxy 982 for those who were asking about it. If you'd like any pictures of a specific part of it, feel free to ask, though I think I covered most all of it. That's Globe 999 Nat on it.

This is the first time I've seen one up close -- I don't suppose the backside cork accommodates 2.5 inch fingers?

Should we start a "my bat" area? :D

Huh? You mean your fingers would be too long? If so, no, I have the longest fingers of anyone I've ever met, and they just fit to the edge of the cork. It's definitely long enough for anyone else.

Err, maybe I should take a picture of my friend's not-exactly-textbook j-penhold grip.

Hobbes,
the handle on FH near the rubber is worn out or do you shave it ? I am curious to know how long it will be worn out under normal use.
Silver,
It seems we have some slight difference in gripping the blade. My blades are shaved exactly the opposite way compared to yours, that is the shape for your forefinger would be the same with the shape for my thumb. Your shape for the thumb will be the same for my forefinger, but mine is a bit longer.

I rarely shave the thumb as I use the height of that side to rotate the blade over more & close down the blade even further for FH. Similarly, for RPB it allows me to open up the blade further than normal. If I didn't play RPB and trad. bh'ed, I would shave it down as to allow a faster switchover & to be able to close down the blade further on the BH.

Silver, I cannot find Nittaku AP at iruiru website. Is it single ply hinoki and what is the thickness ? How does it compare to Nittaku Cho Tokusen A or P? Sorry for so many questions.

Don't worry, I have no problems with your questions.

http://www.iruiru.com/e/bd/index08.html

Nittaku AP, 9mm
The Nittaku Cho Tokusen P is the premium version - similar to the difference between the AA and the Cho Tokusen A.

I was actually going to buy a cheap Nittaku Airuline 8.8, but decided that I wanted a round Jpen instead. I found the LKT One a little unwieldy over/close the table, but the AP feels better for my close to the table looping game. I currently use Desto F1 on FH and a sheet of Samba (i had it around, but it wouldn't be my first choice) on the BH, as I've removed the cork sheet (that took AGES)
