That was impressive, Roundrobin really took him apart.

I don't know why roundrobin isn't playing sanctioned tournaments.. I'm sure that he would go up 200 - 250 points in rating if he would play tournaments frequently. There are MANY 2200 - 2300 players that can't beat him, me included.. I have zero chance against hin.. I played him about 10 - 12 times and took maybe 1 or 2 games off him in all those matches..

I suppose there is no video material featuring RR. I'd like to see him play. Maybe you can record your 13th encounter ;-)?

Here's a video of him destroying me 3:0 (also at LATTA 2 weeks ago). Best point of the match was his match point...

Roundrobin is impossible. When I played him everything was fine if I could keep it long pips against long pips. But there was no chance of outlasting him with that strategy as he would eventually twiddle and smack it past me.

I watched him play a few matches against different types of players. He has a really solid game.

Jay has an interesting game, but he's his own worst enemy. Too aggressive.

Very true.. He also misread the spin on the ball a few times. I think that Jay would do a lot better against me if he would play me 4 - 5 times or so.
I saw some of Jay's matches at the Meiklejohn tournament and he has a very solid game against conventional style players. However, his timing was way off against my game.

Hi Olivier.

I would like to know what is your training dynamics.

On the other hand... Don't you feel a bit bored when you play? Your style is the most repetitive one that I've ever seen.

I do a lot of multi-ball training with my coach. We are trying to fill holes in my game.. I often have problems covering the deep backhand after chicken-wing blocking on the forehand. Multi-ball has helped me to become quicker. I also try to incorporate more attacking into my game which has dropped my playing level by about 100 - 150 points in the short term but should bring it up in the long term (1 - 2 years).
I never feel bored when playing as there is lots of strategy involved in my kind of game.. Sure, the strokes look the same all the time but placement, speed and timing varies greatly. It's like playing high speed chess..

Thank you. Perhaps you could help me:

I'm going to play again after several years. I was a kind of attacker/blocker, and I played with inverted FH, short pips BH. I'm thinking about to play an attacker style, with inverted FH and long (or medium) pips BH. I would like to attack and block with my BH, getting a disruptive effect.

But I won't can train a lot, so I need an easy-to-use long or medium pips rubber. Something very similar to short pips but with some disruptive effect. Could you recommend me any rubber?

Most disruptive but difficult to control is Tibhar Grass DtecS or Giant Dragon Snowflake or Dragon Talon. All 3 are relatively fast and not easy to control but they have good disruptive effect..

Get a fast OFF carbon blade, slap on some OX LP on BH wing, and play like Achuma Style. Maybe Psy himself will visit you.
