Great match ... how sad that got away.
I played against Liu in Argentina Open '03. He recently left China and was 7000 times faster than me. No wonder the result :(

Today he play the final round of the Panamerican Games in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Probably going to repeat the final of 2007 with Lin Ju, of Dominican Republic.
I'm from Argentina and I want to win Liu, of course.

Liu Song is the new Men's Pan American Champion

Third time lucky is the phrase for Argentinian Liu Song, who gets the gold medal in his third attempt at Pan American Games and secured his participation in London 2012. The Argentinian player overcame Mexican star Marcos Madrid and silenced local spectactors.

I love this guys style! I have found someone I want to emulate. He looks older than the average TT player, anyone know how old he is?

Edit: I have just found out he is 38 years old. So theres hope for me yet, as a 43 year old!

I always like the fact when players give a good handshake to thier opponent first then the officials and then opposition coach etc, before they go nuts lol, but I guess we can understand emotion

Its just Im old fashion lol

Gauzy despite his intelligent play clearly thrown off by his unfamiliarity against Liu Song's style.
Awesome play.

This is a match of William Henzel against liu song... awesome victory by Henzel!

Here are his words and the video:

Latest episode includes the match against Liu Song for you pimplers!! The match contained surprisingly little pimple play - he basically tried to stop using them after getting done over in the fist two sets. I'm thinking about doing a highlights package of the match with some slow-mos and the points that didn't make it into this diary video.

oh oh oh just found this thread. Is that not the best reaction you have ever seen when Liu wins the Panam Games? It warmed my heart. Looked like he was doing the aeroplane run...until he crashed!
