The recent winner of egypt open. I think she deserve her own thread here. :)

Image

Equipment (from nittaku website)
Blade: NittakuOrijinalRaketto ( direct japanese translation, probably mean custom made )
FH: Kyouhou Neo 3 (Hurricane neo 3)
BH: Sen Rai ( Sharping)

i saw her on earlier picture on ittf website that she used JSH, but i think she switch after she got sponsored by nittaku.

Looking at her play style remind me of more aggresive version of Junko Haneyoshi. I wonder if she trained by her. She use the same type of special out (medium pips).

She's in the Japanese team at WTTTC in Tokyo...

Currently, she's WR47

Found a recent match against Liu Shiwen (earlier this year, QF Kuwait Open)

She's got a interesting FH counter-hit and actually took 2 games off Liu.

I tried 563 OX... too difficult.

Nice!

She won more points with her fh close to the table and lost more points away from the table with her bh chop, from the clips shown,.. maybe the pro's should try a close to the table strategy more often...

Really enjoyed her match against Ding Ning in the Final.

She's got a great style. However, shot selection couldn't have been worse. She lost at least 6 points on the weird fishing shot.

Anybody else think she was having a forehand rubber failure? So many balls which seemed to just hit the rubber and not react... like you're expecting the ball to bounce up high off the racket but it just dies. She had a pink sponged rubber like Tenergy, but it sounded much harder.

I'd like to know what her backhand is.

Aye josie she made a LOT of mistakes trying to "fish" the ball. To me, she just looked tired - every time Ding hit the ball into her centre (which after losing game 2 was pretty much her only tactic), Ishigaki would just bend her torso rather than getting her feet into the right position.

I don't think her rubber was dying though. On two separate occasions I saw Ding Ning clearly take the spin off the ball with a cushioned block - Ishigaki didn't react properly and the ball went into the net. She then looked at her rubber as if to say "wow, what happened there?". Not a rubber problem in my opinion - just not reading the spin properly.

Maybe she was nervous? Both of the above could be symptomatic of nerves in a pressured environment.

I think she was just very nervous (just look at how well she played vs Liu Shiwen in kwait, amazing match!!) and btw she still has many holes in her game, the most important is her fh attack vs block. She has a very spinny loop vs backspin but not fast, so opponents adjust to it and then she lacks power and consistency to end the point. Defence can also be improved... in the end it was a matter of tecnical dominance by ding ning, not tactics. 3rd set defence didn't work, 4th set attack didn't work... in order to have a chance she should have played as well as she did in kwait: solid defence, good block, mixed attacks... very difficult in a women's final against such an opponent

We shall see what she can achieve in the future, at the moment she's with the best defenders in the world with Seo(KOR), Ri(DPR), the singaporean and Pavlovitch...

Fantastic stuff! I totally forgot that this was going on...

Thanks Pipsy!

Wow she put in a 110% in front of the home crowd... it looked as though her arms might fly out of the sockets and her head was going to smack the table...fantastic display of blood sweat and tears.
