Really enjoyed watching that match. Yuto is unbelievably quick.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I feel like he's been quicker in this video than the past few 4-5 matches

How he loop-drives so consistently whilst running full speed towards the table I will never know. When I try that... well... the outcome is never pretty :D

I guess though, with his kind of game, it's an absolutely vital component. He doesn't want to get stuck chopping all day, he wants to use his spin variation from the SPs to get pop-ups which he can attack. Similar to my game, except 9/10 for me I end up having to push because I'm far too slow to get my feet into the right position to play a loop. The other 1/10 I attempt the loop and fail miserably

Well, that's the end of the video. Gone like the wind.

Is this the deleted game?

Does anyone know what happened to him? He no longer plays the tour. No new videos either.
I believe he was injured (shoulder?) and had a lengthy recovery... Is he still recovering? He isn't that injured, is he?

No news on Yuto other than that he apparently switched to Xiom Vega Euro, according to the following Japanese site:

https://tabletennis-reference.com/player/detail/94

You can of course question whether this is true or not but the site is pretty accurate overall and also correctly lists his blade and pips. So they must have gotten this information either directly from him or from someone who knows him well.

Lol Vega Europe is a super soft beginner rubber... also quite old now... The good rubber of that generation was Vega Pro, great spin, but much slower than Tenergy, Bluefire...
He is surely playing either with tenergy or latest gen rubbers from other brands ;)

Did you manage to find an answer? Was definitely my favourite player, I loved his style, but really can't find anything about what's happened to him or anything. Probably an injury, but he's been off the scene for a while.

Good news for Yuto followers:
He is enrolled in this year's Japan National Championships!

Yuto is back!!

He's a member of the Ryukyu Asteeda team and is participating in the T League. He played his first match beating Wong Chun Ting 3-2. Waiting for the video to pop up somewhere but the result itself tells us his match form is top notch.

(btw Joo is his teammate so there should be a video of him playing too)
