(In Tischtennis (German tt-magazine) from June it is confirmed by (Ruwen) Filus that Yuto is now playing Long pimples)

Any close-ups from the videos?

Cool, but I still want to see a picture....

It makes sense, and the last pictures in the page before this one may be p1 already if you look carefully...

Yup, its an lp alright. I felt like i was watching the match between Boll and Joo in paris, nice long rallies. Muramatsu and Jon were spectacular!

Still surprised he isn't generating more backspin with his chops....you see joos chops hit hard....but never every time....maybe it's placement...lots of his chops land 2/3 deep.

Of all LPs, I guess P-4 is the one closest to SP. There is almost no passive spin reversal, no "funkyness" and it is very grippy. Muramatsu sometimes plays it a little like Shiono, with rather high chops that causes troubles more because lack of speed and with an arc that is difficult to read, then because of good placement, low arc and lots of spin. Almost the opposite of how Joo chops. But sometimes Muramatsu chops very low also...

I wonder how long it would take for Yuto to adjust his technique to lp.... Im pretty sure hes using lp right now. He's only 20 years old, so he could get pretty high up there, like Joo was since 2003. As a sidenote, i noticed how people would say that muramatsu's chopping looks similar to Joo's. Can someone please explain how?

Big swing? Never heard that though....it doesn't matter what your chop looks like. It only matters how fast your racket is travelling at the split second the ball has contacted it.....take a look at old school amazing choppers ding song or Chen xin hua. Especially chen. Their chopping motions were so small and wristy yet would stop the heaviest loopers in the world in their tracks.

from "Yuto looks Joo" faction, :D

this is imho, when backhand chop

There the back facing opponent vertical late knee height chop narrow stance typical Japanese style like Matsushita Koji and Takashima Norio.

there more horizontal earlier chop narrow stance typical Chinese style like Hou Ying Chao and Ding Song,

and rather new school face forward vertical chop wide stance Joo See Hyuk, and for my amateurish eyes, Muramatsu Yuto style looks exactly like Joo compared to previous styles.
