Any of you blade experts know the blade? Looks like thick balsa...or hinoki?

Probably balsa given the style.

It looks like a XVT balsa carbon to me.

Hmmm totally different handle. And doesn't look as thick....

Handle, I saw that, I think she is playing with an a blade several years old, maybe the handle changed as of late. That one XVT is 10mm thick, so about the same.

Or maybe the XVT is a brand competitors similar type.

Never heard of the XVT. Is it slow? Fast? Dampening?

It's a one ply blade and it's really thick. She won the women's in the Michigan closed last year. Probably will this year too.

Hey Teddy, there seems to be a big snag this year. The dates of Michigan State Closed conflict exactly with National Collegiate Table Tennis Tournament in Eau Claire, Wisconsin so several former winners and top prospects will not likely be able to play in the Michigan tournament due to school team obligations/priorities.

I don't know, but just received one, will find out soon.

From hand test, faster on inverted side, slower on long pips side. 10mm thick 5 ply blade

I think this XVT blade is a clone for a name brand.

XVT balsa carbon 10mm thick after playing two sessions

I seem to have better control with the long pips OX and a little more speed kick on my 4H.

Anyone ever find out what equipment she was using?

Forehand? Backhand and blade?
