This is one of my favorite modern defenders. He plays a very entertaining style and has beaten lots of good players. Unfortunately he does not compete much (because he lives in Noth Korea?) and therefore he does not have a god ranking position (not as good as I think it should be). Here are some videos. I know there are more matches from the 2008 olympics, but first, the best one - the epic match against Cheung Yuk: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WURB4668

What I really like about this guy is that unlike some modern defenders who rarely chop on the forehand side, he's in many ways like a classical defender, but then he can also attack with the forehand at any point.

First post updated. Look how he handles He Zhi Wen, who normally plays very well against defenders (he beat Gionis in straight games not long ago). He just serves and attacks slowly with his pips and waits for a little higher return and then smashes. He is so patient. But Jang manage to win anyway by being just as patient and with lots of attacks. Jang wins lots of points with his serve. But I have seen a few complaints about his serve being illegal (he is hiding the ball). I think he is the one of top modern defenders that attacks most with his BH using pips (perhaps Filus attacks a little more, but he twiddles much more).

Jang Song Man has footwork that is out of this world. He plays a slightly faster paced game than other defenders. Fun to watch!

I also have full matches that I have got from Megaupload of Jang vs Song Liu (128th final 2008 olympics) and vs Li Ching (32th final 2008 olympics) along with already mentioned matches vs Marcelo AGUIRRE (qualification group) and He Zhi Wen (64th final 2008 olympics). Hopefully they are still there...
Edit: Jang Song Man vs Song Liu: http://megaupload.com/?d=ILYFS7H9

Make sure to edit again with the rest of them!

Full, HQ matches, especially of olympic games are way better than youtube highlights IMO.

Look at that site for links to full matches with Chen W, Gionis and Lin Ju (another defender)

You are the bomb. My wife actually started to watch a few TT vids with me after seeing his match with Cheung about a year ago, so these are a guaranteed popcorn-in-hand pleaser.

The only link that doesn't work is the one vs. Li Ching :-/.
