Post subject:  MIKHAILOVA Polina - Modern defender
I just noticed this female defender, that is more like a modern defender. She hits really hard and attacks/counters/blocks with her FH in a very interesting way. She is ranked # 109 in the world (jan 2012).

Amazing! Thanks for the share Sir :up:

Her counter attacks are amazing from mid distance. Some looks like a strong drive loop other is like a fish taken when the ball is at its peak which is a bit similar to Chen Weixing.
Both are effective nonetheless. Her defence is consistent too.

Looking at her world ranking stats, she is slowly climbing up :)

Polina is playing really good in EC in Russia! She is very agressive on both FH and BH, smashing as soon as the opponent is hesitating just a little. Her BH smashes is winning her lots of points. I hope she can keep this level in the individual competition.

Here is the latest match, look how Xiaona SHAN is wondering what to do in the first set and first half of the second. The first set is probably the best I have seen Polina played. I believe this was the first loss for Polina in the team events.

I can see the Butterfly logo on her FH side, but what pips does she use? Spectol? I can see it is a rather thick sponge, I'm guessing 1.7 mm.

Look at Polinas match against ultra-safe defender Han Ying. Polina followed her game plan very well, waiting patiently for the right moment to attack. Very good game indeed, schoolbook example of how to play against a classi defender:
