I saw the equipment Japsican confirmed he was using and bought 5 of those paddles for my club to use! Thanks! Im sure it will be great money spent! =)

You should have bought a 6th, because that would likely have garnered you a bulk discount. Go big or go home.

I got 2 pictures from the Ma Te vs Ma Long video and these do suggest pips and sponge

The one that obviously shows a pip (and looking at the techniques used in this match it has to be a pip, no anti or 'normal' inverted):

And here there's one which looks very much like a sponged rubber, no ox:

The pips don't seem to be long and I guess the sponge is somewhere between 1.5 and 2mm.

Woah! Definitely not 2mm thick. I'd bet my money on 1.5-1.7mm.

So what does "RSM" stand for, Regimental Sergeant Major perhaps?

After watching the match against Ma Long a couple times, I wonder if it's some kind of classical SP or an LP. Why SP? Because of the ridiculously thick sponge on his BH. However, some of his near-the-table shots make me think they're an LP.

but we still dont know what equipment he is using :(
at 19:07 i see and think it's VKMO, some chinese tacky rubber with white creme sponge (maybe DHS H3 prov) and a lot of tuning,
the pips with white sponge min 1.3-1.5mm (i think its LP cause he used some punch shots typical for LP)

I didn't see the video yet, but a victory as a chopper over Xu Xin is a massive achievement. I think we should honor him with an interview.
