If you look closely, you can see that he's not playing shakehand, rather he's playing Jpen. His Forehands are so weird that it's clear that's anti judging by the strokes and ball trajectory. Plus, if you stare long enough you can see the matte finish of the rubber....

Also, because it's so slow and easy to chop with, Tenergy 25 is on the Backhand....for control. Watch the match against Ma Long, you'll see he does RBP on occasion. He choses the Xiom Ryu Min Seung blade because of it's ability for chopping defense, something RSM was known for.

This issue has been closed...no longer do you need to wonder about his equipment.

Ma Te says hello to OOAK btw. He told me to tell you all to stop sending him IMs on Weibo.

I thougth he was Using Hard Bat 1 side and sandpaper on the other.

i just had to rush out and order his gear to emulate my hero.its cost me a fortune but with practice im sure i can play like him.
i did try transformer once but never on the forehand.does boosting make it softer or something.
ive been practicing penhold style today also.
My dad loaned me the money for the blade-i went into my savings for the tenergy
http://www.tabletennisdb.com/blade/xiom ... tinum.html
^^$ 240 USD :o -im sure its worth it
im so confident that this set up will be perfect for me .
Thank you my friend.

You are welcome! I'm always here to help. $240 is nothing when you consider that a setup can last you for YEARS.
:D

This is awesome by the way:

It's very interesting to see all these new info about Ma Te's equipment.
The reason I'm posting here is because I like his style and I'm interested to learn more about him. Of course I will provide my honest opinion and questions I have. I reach out to him because I am a fan of him and curious about his latest equipment. There is nothing wrong to think that he might be using long pip, short pip, anti, or even sand paper. everyone is entitle to their own opinion and that's what makes it interesting. If there is proof then that'll be great.

Now if someone DID met him in person and had a chance to interview him that would be even better. Japsican seems like a power user here who contributed a lot on this forum. So should I believe that he met him in person and Ma Te told us not to contact him anymore? Or is this something he is deciding for the users on this forum to stop talking about his equipment and we shouldn't be contacting him anymore.

kentyu, Japsican was making a joke there. Humor tends to be lost in translation.

Heck, my wife seems not to get my humor much of the time, and we're both native English speakers

Kentyu,

Yes...I was kidding.

We've gone round and around about his equipment and whether he uses short pips or long pips, P-1R or Dtecs. It got so crazy, I saw a chance for levity. Please IM him to your hearts content.

Or, the MAX Anti on the Forehand? That's even weirder.
