Thank you for the info. And welcome to the forum!
I am sure there are a few readers here at the forum that has a queastion or two about chinese players. For example, there is a young chinese defender Liu Yi, ranked at around 60 in the world for the moment. He does not compete very much. Do you know anything about him? He has his own thread here in the video section.

Hey yjd,

great that you found your way to the forum :-). As you can notice, at this forum we are mainly interested in defensive players ;-)

Unfortunately, you couldn't find out what pimples Ma Te is using either...

It would be great if you could help us out in translating roughly what Sun Jian Fei says in his long pimples training video, it's the second video in this link: viewtopic.php?f=71&t=23929

Hope to see you on Wednesday to play another match! And I've got to tell you about my visit at the World cup where I saw Xu Xin, Yan An, etc.

Horrible playing from Ma Te:
CHUANG Chih-Yuan vs Ma Te: 4-1: 14-16,11-9,11-0,11-2,11-6,-,-

I watched his match against JAnos Jakab yesterday and he did not play any good there either, but he won anyway. He played very static, not many attacks. He had some good servece returns with his pips at the end of the match against Jakab but that was it. Against Chuang he just chopped and chopped, then Chuang looped to his FH and Ma Te tried to chop with inverted and missed. He need to attack a lot more to win agasint such a player.

I only watched the first set in which Ma Te played really well. And then some short fragments of the other sets. Your observations might be correct, but let's not forget Chuang Chih-Yuan is world's number 7 and Ma Te is number 183...

Yeah i think DA's synopsis is right. Ma Te wanted to just chop but he desperately needed to attack more.

He counter-looped well enough but no third ball attacks and no kill shot. Chuang wasn't reading the pimples well which presented Ma Te with numerous opportunities that Joo would've killed.

Yes, I am well aware about his ranking, but against defenders he acts like he is around 100 :-) Ruwen Filus beat him not long ago, and many other defenders has beaten him before. But Ma Te played too static, and then Chuang learn how to loop. Against a more dynamic and varied defensive game Chuang usually loses. MA Te has a very good FH attack, and I am very surprised he did not use it more often.

WOW!!!! He played very good against Ma Long    . What pips does he use? He attacks a lot and also chop blocks with them. And he also made some funny Cork screw loops like Hou Yingchao    . I want more!
