I watched him live today.. Well this guy is a beast. His chops and movements seem so slow and smooth.. But are almost always very low with some unpredictable amounts of spin.

And, although the photo is not superb(it's mine), THE BIG NEWS!)
I can say with about 99% certainty that he uses Palio CK531a.
here's the pic I took(cropped with some light photoshop touch so it could become more readable).

Now would his Palio CK be the blue, green or yellow packaged one?

Is it likely he uses it on the sponge it comes with or his own sponge?

I guess blue. I found blue less grippy than yellow. He must be using his own sponge or special order palio (becuase they are selling only 1.1mm and Ma Te is using 1.5mm)

With Ma Long out, Ma Te could easily reach the semifinal at least? Probably facing Xu Xin, who he won against in a bo5, a bo7 would be harder.

He will play Liam Pitchford in the next round who eliminated Ma Long.
It will be a difficult match.

Sure, but I'd still say that Ma Long would be more difficult, even if Pitchford beat him. I don't think Pitchford is that good against defenders either, but I haven't seen him play against a defender in a long time.

I just wish there was a way of knowing which Palio Ck531a he is using, and what sort of sponge underneath! The sponge is yellow, just like a P1r sponge!

I am not familiar with palio ck531a.... I thought it was not a very grippy LP.
I understand the reversal on big loops but this dude is putting some much underspin on dead balls (basic pushes)!?!
And he is NEVER twiddling! That LP must be somehow grippy, no?
