I don't get the secrecy behind that LP rubber |(
Is he sponsored by a brand and plays with something else??
Honestly, I would just want to know what kind of LP he is using (grippy and not).

I think he's trying to keep it secret so players on the tour wouldn't know ahead of time what he uses. If he starts playing tour events more often, it's just a matter of time for the word to get out.

Outside of his usual opponents (China, Taipei, etc), he just played Nima Alamian from Iran.. maybe someone is friends with him and could ask. My best guess (based on his matches and what I read here ) is he plays with palio ck531a.

Dtechs also, and many other pips, but DG dont have a 1.5 sponge under it.

But one could put a 1.5mm sponge under any rubbeer. And his could be DG or DG2, both have the straight line. And I have DG with 1.0mm sponge, it could be something like that.

Denis Kalachevskiy plays DG2 with sponge.

Frankly, there is nothing preventing him from just getting a 1.5mm sponge and adding it to a million LPs with straight lined labels.

Other LPs with straight line:
Giant Dragon Meteorite
Sanwei Code
Spinlord Agenda
Spinlord Bltizschlag
Kokutaku 911
The Yinhe LPs
Hellfire
Hallmark Phoenix
Several of the Neubauers

Did you add sponge yourself or some shop (tabletennis11?) can do it for you? Somewhat scared of trying to glue OX to a sponge.

No, I added a KAWA sponge to DG1. And let me tell you it felt amazing, but squirrely as hell. I'm sure I just wasn't used to it. Either I made the most amazing chop you ever saw, or I was putting holes in the wall. I still have that rubber/sponge combination..I think it would have been better on the Defplay, so I may try that for fun. I've only tried it on the VKM. Cole Ely from ColesTT will add any topsheet to any sponge in his inventory, he's the only one I know will do that. In fact, when he used to carry GD Meteorite, he added a yellow sponge and it is the best feeling meteorite I have. I think it's 30 degrees.

The way I added it is the way I deal with all of my OX rubbers. Water based glue (tear mender) on the OX sheet, and RC on the sponge. It's a SOLID bond...I was going to take it off but DG, as you know, is fragile, and I was too scared to take it off. If it was a different topsheet, I could remove it for sure. BUT it's solid. WBG to RC is my go-to for everything.

As an aside (and then I'll stop hijacking the Ma Te thread), I am dying to try DG2 with that same yellow sponge from Cole. Maybe something like 0.6mm to 0.8mm for variation but not too much grip.

He is frighteningly good at the moment.

Best defender in the world IMO. He's SO quick, SO consistent and SO creative. His LP swipes and backhand loops are always so well-timed and well-placed. Every push is considered.

Wish he had more exposure to international competitions. I think he'd make some of the Top 10 players look decidedly average.

He already did, Zhang Jike and Xu Xin being the most memorable ones.
