He is very kind, if you want other informations, i can ask him.

Reckon we could get an interview? :) Would be nice to ask someone a bit more 'accessible' about technique and stuff 'behind the scenes'.

Yeah KC, why don't get in contact with haggisv to setup an OOAK interview with this young man? He might even join the forum, if he likes.

Thanks Korean Chopper, that would be awesome. As mentioned by Lorre, our forum moderator Haggisv could collect questions from forum members and you could conduct a sort of a Facebook-interview. Do you also have face-to-face contact with him? If Kang Dong Soo can express himself a bit in English, it would even be more fantastic if he'd want to join the forum and directly answers some questions in his (this) thread.

Although Kang got thrashed, what an entertaining match with some unbelievable chops! Well played from Feng too.

Yes still good to watch! Feng seemed to know exactly what to do, and had just the right game to do it.

PS Korean-Choper: I'd still love to do the interview! Any news on that?

Really interesting. In that first game, from the points we saw, his forehand attacks led to (directly or indirectly) him losing six points, but he only lost one point with his defensive play and won two or three outright.

An in-form Joo on the other hand very, very rarely misses opportunities with his massive forehand.

Great to watch!

Yes he will play here in Holland apparently but after that news item earlier this year did not hear anything about it again. I think he is way too strong for the dutch top division but we will see.

It appeared that the Dutch club was mainly interested in him for playing in European leagues. I guess they will only bring him to the team just a couple of times during the season.

They wont play him at all in the Dutch league this season. The teammanager stated that it wasnt fun for him or his opponents. The highest ranked player in the competition is his teammember Borna Kovac and the rest is way outside the top 300. Also there is a new system here in our eredivisie, so the first part of the season is to get top 6 and those teams will play a full competition to decide the national championships. Taverzo easily qualifies without him. They might play him next season to become national champions, but even without him they have the strongest team.

Today he played his first match at home in the ETTU cup. Too bad I couldnt see him perform.
In the first match he won both of his games. His best opponent was YANG Chengbowen (321) who he defeated 3-2. He lost 2 close games above 10 and won his games more easily.

A shame he won't play in the local league... it would be great experience for the other players.

It would have been nice to see him play. But he is probably too expensive to fly in from Korea for just the local league.
Last night he won again both of his matches and today he won both of his matches too.
Unfortunately his team with Jan Zibrat (267) and Borna Kovac (324) lost 2-3 against Ligist. So they are 2nd in their group and wont go through to the 3rd round.
Seems this weekend was the last weekend that Kang Dongsoo was active in Holland.

From what I can read from the match report he had an amazing game against Christoph SIMONER (former nr 218 of the world). He was 2-0 behind and survived 8th matchpoints in the 3rd game to win it with 18-16 and went on to win 3-2 in games.
They uploaded already 1 rally, most likely they will upload footage of all matches: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVvD77C ... IBQ1Ee72sg
