and he lost 2:4 to Jike
hm.. chops seems to be a bit high and long (off table many times)
so spike more grippy, bouncy?
other fact he used more spin variations than in 2014

It was a great game and it was closer than the score indicates. I think the Spike he's playing with is something similar like P4, but a bit more uncontrolled (and therefore more dangerous?). Chops weren't too high and chops need to be long at that level (off course not too long like you indicate).

best chops are low and long at line
but look his 2 first sets
mostly chops were high enough to smash and long (off table)
eg. 1 set he scored 4 point all from attacks

Not even the most exciting rally (the point in which Shiono goes all or nothing and Zhang blocks the ball back) is in this highlights video. That's why most of the time videos of all points are included here (not the full game, only the points).

Looked like Shiono just couldn't get his forehand past ZJK. That might have made the difference.

Oh and yeah I agree that the "highlight" video was utterly rubbish.

Lorre, I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean...

I have no intentions of buying the new Donic rubbers if you mean that. Still have an unopened sheet of P4, FLII, Akkadi L1 and Globe 979, so I'd better try those first. But then again, I'm pretty sure I will stick to what I use right now. Actually, I suck as an EJ as my addiction is in a way rather platonic
