Discovered her a few years ago when I was a former customer of ppgear. I believe he lost to her at some tourny. By all accounts she is a highly regarded long pips defender in the tradition of great Korean defenders. Her is what someone else posted on another forum:

ot sure what part of the country you are in but you might look into Sumi Lee at the Korean Table Tennis Club in Houston, Tx. My understanding is she specializes in coaching modern defenders. From what I saw of her play at the Chinese Community Center Tournament a couple of months ago I don't think you could go wrong with lessons from her. I believe she had a pretty good tournament at the US Open this year.

Here is a youtube:

FH Rubber:???
BH Rubber:???
BLADE: ???

BTW I emailed her last year and I believe, I'll have to find the email, she uses a Joo blade with Tenergy? and P1R with sponge.

She's living in the US and I believe that she is or was coaching some junior on the level of a Judy Hugh...

I'm sure our US members are more familiar with her.

Sumi Lee seems to be an excellent player, however watching her nice style on that video is simply a "real torture" due to the continuous movements of the camera...!!...Please, next time use a tripod...!!

I saw her play in Texas in 2009 at a TWU tourney. She was legit mid 2300ish then. She LP sponge chops chops, chops, chops, and sometimes suddenly counters or pick hits.

EVERYONE in Korea has one of those Yasaka shirts. Hanool TT must have sold a million of em. Reb has one of them though haha.

How you saw H. Spin play vs her is typical. Sumi just stays in the point and match, even if she chops a few short or long. She just finds a way to make points, whether from opponents' errors or her own winners if you leave the ball up too much. Larry had a lot of good ideas and many good first attacks to her wide FH or BH wing, he just missed a couple too many.
