He has only played 3 tournaments in the US and is rated a little over 2200. (but will go up after the LA Open is processed)

Not sure about the blade and inverted rubber (which he only uses for serving) but the long pips rubber is TSP Curl P3 alpha R
He went to the U-2250 semi-final where he lost to the guy who won the event after several matchpoints.. The video is messed up and in slow motion as I ran to the end of the internal storage of my phone when recording it. I'm still trying to recover the video completely (only was able to recover 50% of it and it's in slow motion).. I got to play him and lost 0:3 but had my chance in game 3 when I started going back away from the table, lobbing and chopping.. His pushes are very aggressive and well placed. I bet that he will be over 2300 in a short time..

yes, P3 alpha R ox..

too bad that the video is in slow motion as it makes the guys game look slower but he is pushing incredibly aggressive with those pips.. If I would have to play him again, I would only be lobbing/chopping too him..

Takemura does some very accurate and aggressive pushing indeed! The 2nd video showed that well. And he manages to block smashes quite well too, with his blocks wobbling enough to cause problems. Thanks for that post pushblocker!

His footwork is also very good.. He is always in position. I'm actually analyzing this match in detail as I might have to play Dave Sakai in the O-40's at the St. Louis Open this coming weekend. My coach, who used to coach Dave Sakai has already given me some advice on how to play Dave. Dave is a very strong and consistant player.. He certainly can still play at hith 2200 level on a good day. Certainly very hard to beat..

I'm usually not a stickler on this type of stuff unless it's blatant and in this case I think it is.

That is one illegal serve Dave uses when he gives his quick backhanded serve. Saw him win a few out right off that thing. Piratically serves right out of the hand.

Never seen Hiromasa before. Picked up a few pointers though. He blocks topspin with a forward and up push/block. Essentially as if you were blocking with a standard grippy rubber. I never do that as vs topspin on my LPs. When I block it's always a chop/block motion. It's nice for maximizing the reversal of spin but I also feel gives away what you're doing.

I'll try to learn some of the blocks Hiromasa is doing here just for deception and a little variety. Nice video. Thanks.

I agree with some of Dave's serves being illegal... Not even close to 6 inches toss..
I don't know if I will call him out on it if he does it against me as I'm often chatting with Dave at tournaments and I have no issues with him.. However, if it bothers me, I woudl ask him to toss the bal higher if it's not close to 6 inches..
