I watched his recent interview (and a practice match) ... all in all, probably good 2 hours of quality "inside" content with him. He says he still plays with Bty Defence pro, FL3 0.5 and T05-FX ...
HOWEVER. :!: (and I am paraphrasing from memory here) he said he realizes his FH rubber is soft and at times he cannot hit certain loops and angles due to its softness, and he is going to be testing D09c soon. The interviewer goes "why not D05 or something more neutral" to which he said he valued spin above all.
Hoping to see more power in his loops in the upcoming matches if he does switch.

Just watched a brief footage / interview as he's playing in an all state championships in his country. He did switch and now plays with D05 on his forehand. I will post some new footage later. Right off the bat I can say he chops a lot less with his FH and his loop has some serious pace now.

I won't post his interview since it's in Russian (I may post a screenshot of his blade though) but let me post a couple of his Teams championship matches.

Speaking of Abusev's forehand, I will take it back regarding chopping... he still chops on the FH, it's just the match I watched earlier (will find and post it too) he didn't do it much. Maybe he was still getting used to his D05. :?:

Match vs Ivonin, GO TO 9:08:30 MARK

Match vs Vlasov, GO TO 56:29 MARK

Abusev's racket. Go to 3:23
He talks about D05 vs 09c... D05 is better than his old T05fx (harder) and compared to the 09c he thinks it's easier to play with, and more control although a bit less spin.

More of Abusev, this time playing Singles.

This is a must watch. This is one of the best attacker vs chopper matches of 2024. A side note, both players are playing in the French league. The attacker is from the 2nd division but clearly he would be very competitive in the 1st where Abusev plays.

SCROLL TO 8:43:00

In all honesty he was lucky playing against the weakest guy (and not Pitchford or Sidorenko). And on top of that, his opponent had no idea how to play choppers. This will surely boost his confidence. And w/ D05 his forehand is looking much better IMHO.

I don't know what the deal is with him, but he has not been playing well lately. No offense but Thakkar is no Gauzy or Lebrun or even Freitas. And I notice he misses a lot of his attacks

I think its because he changed to Dignics
But don't underestimate Thakkar. He is #61 in world ranking
