Is he using double inverted?

I thought he played with LPs on the BH

I believe you mix him up with Telnoy who chops with double inverted. The fellow in this thread uses Dornenglanz II 1,0 mm on BH (at least he used to).

In the above video he doesnt seem to be playing with his usual LPs.

He definitely uses an LP rubber, most likely Dornenglanz, or maybe something else. Just watch the warm-up, he avoids his bh so the opponent wouldn't get used to it.

What a pity! Denis Kalachevskyi has retired from the sport. In a recently published interview he says he hasn't played in over 9 months and doesn't know if he will work in something related to table tennis in the future. The interview is in russian so I cannot be sure if the information I got via auto-translate is 100 % correct.

The link to the interview, which contains nice photos and interesting questions and answers:

Oh man, I will miss watching his matches!
I wish him all the best for his future.

Thank you for sharing this link.
I had no clue that Kalachevskiy has been essentially Artur Abusev's mentor.. wow.
IN the article he says he doesn't have necessary credentials nor license to coach. Likely he will continue filming / educating public with another top Ukr player, Pisar.

It's that strict, huh?

They probably require a degree in Physical Education to get a coaching license... or something along these lines. So being MC and a leading player of his generation is not enough  :(

I didn't know about them working together either. Kalachevskiy being Abusev's coach would be interesting, the guy is still very young and I think he could be a great chopper in the international circuit. May be Mr. Kalachevskiy decides to get his trainer's licence after all?

The Ukraine has so many good defenders: Kalachevskiy, Gaponova, Abusev, Bilenko, Tur (also very young), Telnoy.... what a likeable people! :)

Technically Abusev is Russian ... and plays for the Russian club and/or Russian national team (Youth?). If I recall K's interview - he happened to join some Russian club where Abusev was also playing and there he became his mentor.

I stand corrected! Hopefully we will see more of Abusev in the future.
