Why is there no logic? The Chinese team might still have sheets of it. The rubber is legal until 2024 I think, then we can expect him to change to Spectol S1. Or maybe he will change during a period before 2024 when he won't have any tournaments and will be able to practice with the new rubber.

Emm, Sun Yang didn't know the rubber would get discontinued when he started to use it for sure. It's his choice to change now or later, maybe he likes it a lot and knows he can still use it to win some titles before it becomes illegal.

Supposedly Sun Yang has changed to Victas Spectol S1 1.6mm recently.

What interesting I never seen him doing this on Youth Contenders where he was playing
